Disney's "Mars and Beyond" from 1957

Postby Charles » Wed Dec 22, 2010 8:58 pm

It's incredible what the Disney Studios were creating for TV for the weekly "Disneyland" program in the 1950s. This is the precursor to "Disney's Wonderful World of Color" which in turn became "The Wonderful world of Disney".

In 1957, a special was produced entitled "Mars and Beyond". It was groundbreaking in its day and the science and speculation presented in the program, especially regarding space travel to Mars, is remarkable.

And the creative, whimsical interpretations of life on other worlds is a definite must see.

Here it is in its entirety, in six parts.
