The History of Advertising

Postby Charles » Wed Nov 17, 2010 4:43 am

The importance of marketing and promotion in today's world is not something new. It's been going on for centuries. Even millenia.

Here's the first part of a nine part series on youTube concerning the History of Advertising. It's narrated by Dick Cavett and it's excellent. If you can't watch all nine parts in a sitting, make it a point to view this documentary when you can. Especially if you're aspiring to promote and market your own properties, products or brand.

And even if you're not, it's healthy to see this so you can understand the bombardment of advertising that you're assaulted by on any given day and protect your mind.

Here's part one, and it's easy to follow along to subsequent parts.
