In Australia, they've been much heralded for their work; in America, if you say the name "iloura" to even the most seasoned VFX artist, chances are you'll be met with a big "whaaaaa . . . is that a Star Trek character?"
Their under-the-radar status is coming to an end. They're just too good to continue to go unnoticed, what with awards-nominated work on The Pacific and Australia, amongst a very long list of others.
And they recently landed a Guillermo del Toro assignment: Don't be Afraid of the Dark, a project for which iloura is the exclusive house, the only house producing shots for this show. It's due January 2011 for the U.S.
Apparently, del Toro's in love with these band of Aussie artists.
Ah, Australia--the Outback, the Sydney Opera House, the Docklands--and iloura.
