Animation Guild leadership - Corrupt or lazy?

Or both?

The more I hear about the shenanigans of the industry's only union the more convinced I am of just how bad the organization's leadership has been, going on a quarter of a century and more.

How can union leadership this bad survive for so long?

The apathy of its membership. With only 22% of eligible Guild members bothering to vote, and with all positions but the executive board running unopposed in their recent elections they continue to provide one of the worst models for organized labor in all of the entertainment industry.

Maybe things will change when the new executive board members take their seats in the New Year.

We'll just have to wait and see. For those that care.
