Hello there everyone.
Here's the video of my visit to Walt Disney's grave on the occasion of his 112th birthday.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1901.
He died in Burbank California December 15, 1966.
As I do every year since 2008 I paid my respects on his birthday to honor him. This year it was a little different as you'll see once you view the video. Got in a bit of a quagmire with the flowers.
By the way, they come from Dan Codron of Flowers By Dan in North Hollywood, California. He was the corporate florist for the Disney company for years and he always supplies the flowers.
I'm posting the video on the forums first before I send it around through the AN network. I'll be following up with additional photos shortly.
Hope this helps you share in the celebration and get a little closer to Walt Disney the man.
Here's some photos I took at Walt's place after I recorded the video...
After my visit to Walt I walked over to pay homage to the great Hollywood actor Spencer Tracy. He's interred very close by.
Here he is followed by his gravesite. I placed a little flower stem next to his name.
Of course I had to stop by Errol Flynn's grave to say hello. He was my favorite Hollywood matinee idol. The star of the greatest swashbuckling movies of all time. I placed s sprig of flowers there as well...
As I was driving through the cemetery I noticed a headstone off on a hillside. I saw the name and immediately recognized who it was.
This is the final resting place of L. Frank Baum.
The author of "The Wizard of Oz"...
And that does it for this year.
Thanks for reviewing the topic and sharing in the celebration.
See you next time 12 months from now when I'll be visiting Walt Disney and friends once again on his birthday.
