Many of you may know the name Max Howard. Max was the producer on many high profile animated classics such as Space Jam, The Iron Giant, The Lion King, Aladdin, and more.

Many of you mat also have heard the name Leon Joosen. He has been a leading artist/director on animated classics for Disney such as The Little Mermaid.

Both of these names are associated with the newest CGI holiday release, Saving Santa, distributed by Weinstein and Gateway Films. It is receiving a wide release overseas in markets such as the UK, Germany, France, and more. The UK opened this past Friday, with others to follow soon.

Max Howard is one of a handful of executive producers on the film, and

Leon directed the project. Both are fairly prominently featured in the

As for the American release, it did not get a theatrical release here as it did in the rest of the world. It did however receive the next best thing, a nation-wide release, this past Wednesday into over 5,000 Local Walmarts. At around a $13 price tag, I hope you all will pick-up a copy when you are out doing your pre-holiday shopping.

The movie is about a stable elf(Hobbit/MartinFreeman) who discovers Santa's(Tim Conway) secret time travel device. The device allows Santa to deliver all his gifts in one night's time. The villain is played by Tim Curry. curry suffered a stroke just after his main audio sessions for the film, and he plays the part with great villainous flair. His dominating Mother is played by Joan Collins!

Another soon-to-be notable American animation professional was also a major player in bringing Saving Santa to the screen. Ricky Roxburgh was the screen writer for the film. Ricky is out of Florida, and this is his first feature film credit for script writer.

After watching the film twice(and a half), I think the film hits a rare balance of an out-dated thing called family entertainment. Solid writing and this may put Ricky on the map for big league projects to come.

As for America's release, it did not make it into theatres but it did get the next best thing. On November 5, (this past Wednesday)it hit the shelves in 5,000 Walmarts across
