If you're looking for a book that will give you some of the most practical and useful advice for progressing with your career in the animation industry, I have good news!

You've found it in the newly published book by animation great Steve Hickner.

It's called "Animating Your Career" from Brigantine Media and it is the most outstanding book I've ever read regarding the subject if not the best ever printed. It's so good in fact, that I read excerpts from it in class at my school The Animation Academy in Burbank. I consider this book mandatory material for anyone looking to get serious about working in the biz. It's by far the best advice oriented publication for animation I've discovered.

I met Steve Hickner this summer at Center Stage Gallery in Burbank. He was one of the speakers at an event there. Steve is a long time industry veteran with many years of experience in animation. He's currently working at DreamWorks and is best known for being the Director "Bee Movie" and "Prince of Egypt"". He's a positive, super enthusiastic person who loves the business and the art, and you can pick up on his energy in the pages of "Animation Your Career".

Steve's common sense, wisdom and outlook on succeeding in the animation industry can easily be applied to just about any other aspect of entertainment as well as one's professional life in general. Honestly, if this book was around when I started my career I could've avoided many pitfalls and taken advantage of many more opportunities. Artists starting out today have a great advantage in the form of "Animating Your Career". I highly recommend this book and would encourage professionals, students and novices to read it and take Mr. Hickner's advice to heart.

If you really want to succeed in animation, then immerse yourself in this book.

Thank you Steve Hickner for authoring this excellent resource!
