The Animation Guild - your corrupted leadership

Postby Charles » Wed May 29, 2013 1:13 am

If you were at the union meeting last night May 28 2013 in Burbank you saw what we've known all along.

You saw just how bad it is.

If you're gonna make things better for yourselves you need to change your union leadership.

You can sit there and take it. Business rep as usual. Or you can get involved and make that change.

This is an election year. Run for office.

It's been a week since the meeting at the Guild that was intended to address abuses at union studios. Specifically the tests that veteran artists are required to take in order to be employed.

Any word on what's developed since? There's nothing on the TAG blog. Anything happen? Is it happening but remains a secret?

Are your dedicated union leaders keeping it a secret? Think things will be different a year from now? Ten years from now? Twenty?

They will be if Guild members get themselves involved in the present.

You have a great organization that's being kept down by an entrenched leadership that sees no need for change. Leadership that gives you lip service and does not invoke your own empowerment.

Leadership that benefits from your apathy and helplessness.

This great community deserves better than what you're getting.

Involve yourselves. Challenge the status quo.
