Well I made the rounds and wanted to check in and share the happy news of the 15th anniversary of the founding of my school The Animation Academy in Burbank.
It was on January 19, 1998 that we held on first class in the back room of at the Coral Cafe in Burbank. I started the business with $15 which was spent on stamps and envelopes to mail out flyers printed off of a 486 PC to around 35 people on a mailing list.
Sold all 20 seats to the class and we were on our way!
So many incredibly positive things have happened since then it's amazing! Thinking about our humble beginnings is, well... humbling.
And we're still affecting the lives of our students and everyone involved with the school in very significant ways!
The Animation Academy launched the AnimationNation Movement. As well as changing the lives of many people for the better, we've also affected the course of the industry with our unique philosophy of Unity, Independent Strength, putting the Artists First, and encouraging much needed reform in everything from attitudes to what a portfolio means to creating your Independent Economy.
I've posted a
write up on the Academy's blog which you're welcome to read through.
A great big thank you to everyone involved with the school, past and present. Thank you for being a part of the experience and for helping to make the Academy unique and influential.
Couldn't have happened with you!
KEEP CREATING !!!
