'The Ghetto Dump' - Detroit Animation

Got this from AN's Facebook page. A visitor posted a link to their animation and coming from a rugged town I know firsthand what it's like to be growing up in a community where you don't know whether or not you'll make it to see another day. That's what life is like for many in cities like Detroit.

This is Underground Animation STR8 from the Motor City. It's called "The Ghetto Dump". The filmmaker is Matthew Mcr Ellison II who also creates music and he's correct in saying the ghetto is what's inside of you. I teach my students that there's no such thing as a ghetto in nature. Ghettos are created by people. You can make a hell out of heaven or a heaven out of hell. It's up to us and it starts with the individual.
