Presented by the people who bring you the signature event, the CTN animation eXpo®, CTN is proud to launch their Satellite Event series with the exclusive Los Angeles appearance of Bruce Block.

Bruce Block, renowned producer, director, visual consultant and author of THE VISUAL STORY which is the widely read book on the relationship between visual structure and story structure is know best for his seminars at major animation studios, computer game companies and advertising agencies in America and Europe. His clients include Aardman, Blue Sky, Brown Bag Animation, Disney, Dreamworks, EA, Google, Hasbro, ILM, Irish Film Board, Nickelodeon, PDI, Pixar, Relic, and many more.

A CTN Exclusive Presentation

For the first time open to the public, Bruce will present a full one-day Visual Structure Seminar just for us. In this session, normally given only inside the production studios walls, Bruce will discuss and demonstrate the basic principles in his book, show examples from films and reveal how visual structure relates to storytelling.

A Rare Opportunity

Not available anywhere else this seminar is designed for directors, writers, production designers, layout & storyboard artists, concept artists, and cinematographers and those aspiring to succeed in those fields. Thousands of artists, writers and producers have attended Bruce's studio lectures. If you are an independent filmmaker or your work appears in feature films, television shows or computer games, don't miss this rare opportunity to see, hear and learn as Bruce powerfully explains visual structure and how you can use it.

The Visual Story is the Bible for Filmmakers

Just as a writer is concerned with story structure or a musician with musical structure, a picture maker must be concerned with visual structure. The key to using visual structure is an understanding of the basic visual components: space, line, shape, color, tone, movement, and rhythm. It's through the control of these visual components that we can stir an audience's emotions, create new and unique visual styles and control the critical relationship between story and visual structure. The principles discussed in Bruce's seminar can be used in live-action or animation for any format including features, television shows, commercials, computer games or Internet sites. His seminar relates all of the visual concepts to practical production and bridges the gap between theory and practice.

Three CTN eXpo passes will be raffled at break time.
