Check out this great new trailer for Nickelodeon's upcoming TMNT series followed by their press release...

Nickelodeon invites you to take a sneak peek at the first trailer from the highly anticipated new animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Set to premiere this fall, the series stars the voices of Jason Biggs (Leonardo), Sean Astin (Raphael), Rob Paulsen (Donatello )and Greg Cipes (Michelangelo) as everybody’s favorite turtles.

Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles chronicles the adventures of the teenage turtle brothers as they emerge from their hidden lair in the sewers for the very first time. Ready to confront the wondrous and hostile world of New York City, they face enemies more dangerous and pizza more delicious than anything they could have ever imagined.

The trailer will premiere on Nickelodeon on Saturday, June 23, 2012 during the one-hour Season One, Book One finale of The Legend of Korra, beginning at 11:00 a.m. (ET/PT).

Uh, wow?

All due respect to the artists who've worked on this, this LOOKS amazing and then it's kinda downhill from there.

I was agog over the 2D, hand-drawn 4Kids version, which I still feel was the most spectacular (and darker) version of TMNT. I enjoyed the hell outta that one.

This one seems geared to a younger audience, and it seems to go out of its way to launch "Boo-ya-ka-shaaaaa!" as a catch-phrase, which seems to me to be a bit disingenuous to say the least. I will wait until the premiere before I say any more than this, but aside from the design, I feel letdown by this.
