Walt Disney's Grave on his Birthday - December 5, 2011It's Walt Disney's birthday today!
Born in Chicago, Illinois 110 years ago. And as I've done for the past few years, I made a pilgrimage to his grave to pay my respects and show love. This is what it looks like as of earlier this afternoon. Click on the image to see it better. The bouquet of light colored flowers were placed there by yours truly.
Re: Walt Disney's Grave on his Birthday - December 5, 2011A closer look.
Re: Walt Disney's Grave on his Birthday - December 5, 2011And a closer look still.
Every time I'm at Walt's grave, I've never been there when someone else was around.
Re: Walt Disney's Grave on his Birthday - December 5, 2011A parting shot of the statue of the little girl that adorns the grounds of Walt's resting place. The tiny pumpkin was left there by a previous visitor along with a sign that read 'Happy Thanksgiving'.
Re: Walt Disney's Grave on his Birthday - December 5, 2011I was determined to go there this year, but ended up going to Disneyland instead! That kinda counts as paying homage, doesn't it? Being a rail fan, I was thrilled to see a new, really nicely done museum about the Disney Railroads. Walt would have been proud.
Re: Walt Disney's Grave on his Birthday - December 5, 2011Close by Walt Disney's resting place is the grave of Errol Flynn. He was my favorite matinee movie star growing up as a kid. He was a huge star in the 1930s and 1940s, passing away at the age of 50 in 1959. He partied hearty.
This is what he was like in the prime of his life. I stopped by to pay my respects. This is where his mortal remains lay. Rest In Peace, Mr. Flynn...
Re: Walt Disney's Grave on his Birthday - December 5, 2011The dude had style. Check him out.
Re: Walt Disney's Grave on his Birthday - December 5, 2011It was also nice of Charles to bump up this thread on December 15th (the 45th anniversary of Walt's passing in 1966).
