Celebrating Ray HarryhausenAt lunch with a good friend today, the subject of Ray Harryhausen's films came up. Later I watched Jason and the Argonauts. What a film that was for its time. Nothing like it for stop motion animation and still holds up great to this day.
Of the many scenes and sequences that come to mind for me when I think of the that film, this one stands out. The inadvertent awakening of Talos when Hercules steals a broach pin of the gods. I remember the terror I felt as a kid first time I saw it. Here's the sequence where the collosal bronze statue comes to life.
