Nominees for the 2011 Cartoon Movie Tributes Awards

Co-production forum Cartoon Movie have announced the nominees for the 2011 Cartoon Movie Tributes awards. Delegates will vote for the director, producer and distributor who they feel have an outstanding contribution to the industry over the past year.
Competing for Best Director of the Year is Spanish team Fernando Trueba, Javier Mariscal and Tono Errando for their work on 40’s Cuban jazz animation Chico and Rita; Jesper Møller and Sinem Sakaoglu for their fantastical stop-motion feature The Sandman and the Lost Sand of Dreams, and French director Pierre Coffin for computer animated 3D criminal mastermind comedy Despicable Me.
In the Best Producer of the Year category, France 3 Cinéma (France), Constantin Film (Germany) and Copenhagen Bombay (Denmark) are all vying for the top spot, and in the Best Distributor of the Year class 6 SALES (Spain), Gutek Films (Poland) and STUDIOCANAL (France) have all got the nod.
The 2010 winners of Best Director of the Year title were Stéphane Aubier & Vincent Patar for Panique au Village (A Town Called Panic), with Wild Bunch scooping the Best Distributor title and Ben Stassen from nWave Pictures prevailing in the Best Producer category for Sammy's Adventures – The Secret Passage.
The 13th Cartoon Movie will be taking place between 2-4 March 2011, in Lyon, France.
