Re: SwingsterVery imaginative. I like the concept very much. Taking the liberty of embedding the video.
That was a lot of work. Overall you did a good job with the software. Next time out, explore the character's acting a little more. The idea for the film is your strong point, the animation basics are pretty good but mechanical. Look to bring more life to your characters. Supplement their movement with a range of emotions, get the timing to be snappier where it needs it, like his walk at the end and in other places in the film. This will enahnce the vitality of your animation and make things more convincing. Congrats on what you achieved and thank you for posting your film here. Enjoyed it.
Re: SwingsterThanks, that is very helpful criticism. You're right he doesn't do much acting. I think i sort of lost the details for the big picture. I expected this project to be 4 mins and it ended up nine.
Anyway a word about the walk at the end. I neglected to rig him with a main mover bone so was unable to do a proper walk cycle and had to key each each step individually. When i tried to add one the posing went haywire and the shot was done in 3 parts so i couldn't really just start the shot over .... (excuses, excuses) Anyway, i'll never rig so much as a gnat without a master bone again:) Thanks Charles for looking and the thoughtful comment.
