I first did some color thumbnails with ArtRage and a 12inch Cintiq.
BTW... Artrage and Cintiq....AWESOME. I know photoshop, and I've used Alias's sketchbook.
For the price and it really easy to use. Yeah you can do allot more with Photoshop but when it comes to quick and dirty sketching. Artrage works.... clean and simple!
Then I dove into Maya and rendered a vector background in 3d. Once I had the bg done I went back into ArtRage and roughed out some character placements.
Finally, well almost finally, I did a line clean up of the characters in Illustrator.
When the client and I got to the last stages of fine tuning, he hit the idea of the "rip" pages.
I think it look Ok.
I feel the middle should have a higher contrast, with darker blues. But he pays the bill
Whutta ya think?
