Joe Weatherly - Master Animal Artist - Books and DVDs

Joe Weatherly was an instructor at The Animation Academy in Burbank in our early days. In fact, I'm pretty sure he got his start as an art instructor at the Academy. In any case, he was part of the scene at the beginning of his teaching career.

Now he's got a line of books and DVDs available for purchase.

Joe's inspired many artists who've become notable character designers in animation in their own right, including David Colman.

I picked up his animal book a few years ago, and it's been one of the most helpful reference and learning guides I own. It's also a rarity that an anatomy book has drawings as dynamic and full of life as Weatherly's.
