AniMazingSpotlight a non-profit - seeks donations

Postby Charles » Thu Nov 25, 2010 12:02 pm

AniMazing Spotlight! was launched over two years ago out of a concern that animated shorts weren’t getting the respect and recognition they deserved not only for their creative and technical innovations, but for their power to convey important ideas succinctly. We feel these shorts deserve the same high visibility accorded feature animation and live action.

Our goal was to correct this inequity, so ,among other things, we began the long process of attaining non-profit status, which we recently received from the IRS. AniMazSpot is now a 501c3 tax exempt charitable organization. This email is our attempt to get a few donations before the end of the year from those wanting a deduction for next year’s income taxes, while supporting a worthwhile mission.

Visit us at

Click the little red “501c3 tax write-off”
button on the home page for more details.

We’re hoping to raise $25,000 for our third annual animated shorts festival next year. $2,500 per month seems doable, and anything more can go to the other programs and projects we are planning for our growing “family” of short filmmakers. At the rate we are going we'll soon have several hundred.

We will also be accepting in-kind donations, and adding each donor to our website, unless the donor prefers to remain anonymous. If disposable income is not your strong point at this time, click the Juggler’s “Support” button on the home page, and scroll through 17 ways to support Animazing Spotlight.

Then, early next year we will begin to approach organizations, although don’t hesitate to pass this on to any individual or organization you feel may be interested.

See you at the movies, in theaters where animated shorts are playing, of course,
the AniMazSpot Team
