The future is shiny

Design Glut duo Kegan Fisher and Liz Kinnmark make quirky home and jewelry pieces with unexpected twists. They just finished designing a shiny new collection of balloon necklaces, money-to-burn candles, and other fun items, and backers helping to bring the line to life can get their very own yet-to-be-released pieces, all of which have a humorous story to tell.

The new makers

Jordan Bunker and Jim Burke became enamored with the maker movement while working on projects at a local hacker space. Inspired by the innovative work of local community members, the duo set out to document the motivations behind the thousands who have chosen to produce instead of purchase. Their film examines how a creative mindset, a knack for sharing, and mutual benefit are shifting the ways we create.

Dutch remasters

For the last five years, photographer René Clement has traveled to the Dutch-immigrant town of Orange City, Iowa to document their annual Tulip Festival. His striking portraiture, beautifully unveiled in his project video, will be collected into a book that both explores and celebrates the place of tradition in contemporary life.
