This week's projects at Kickstarter.com - October 27 '10Photo Booth freaky
Last year, Mark Pernice made a 3D latex mask out of a warped self portrait he took using Apple's Photo Booth application. It was such a hit — garnering media attention and over a million page views — that he's decided to make an entire series inspired by the delightfully unsettling design. Still need a Halloween costume? He's offering one lucky backer a personalized mask! EXPLORE THIS PROJECT Zombie prom In this offbeat comic book series, writer Magen Callaghan puts her own twist on the classic zombie story. Her zombie protagonist, Bony Levi, just happens to have super-healing powers and a knack for getting herself into a LOT of trouble. Inspired by campy '80s slasher films, Bony's first adventure takes her to the high school prom where she'll run into plenty of bad guys and — scariest of all — other high schoolers. EXPLORE THIS PROJECT Deadly seduction Serial-killer short Velvet Rose follows the femme fatale Raya as she acts out the murders in her dreams, all of which are inspired by famous works of art. Peep the video for a haunting mix of story-boarded screams and live-action blood-dripping. One of the many fun rewards: a digital comic of the back-story for $5.
