Hakuna matata! Real-life Timon and Pumbaa hang out

March 30, 2012

When we saw this photo we immediately thought of the quirky best friends, Timon and Pumbaa, featured in the classic Disney movie "The Lion King." Do you see the resemblance? The meerkat seems to particularly have Timon's expression down!

Seen here meeting for the first time, this meerkat and newborn warthog share an enclosure at the 'Ouwehands dierenpark' zoo in The Netherlands. The warthog was taking his first walk outside when he was approached by the meerkat, who we hope is just giving him an enthusiastic greeting!

We're sure the two of them will be best friends in no time, just like the dynamic duo of Timon and Pumbaa in Disney's "The Lion King."
