Stephen Chiodo Animation Master ClassLaguna College of Art & Design is proud to announce the Animation Master Class for Summer 2013 featuring Stephen Chiodo. This workshop will be held for 12 consecutive Saturdays at the Animation Department of LCAD in Laguna Beach, California from May 18th-August 3rd.
Sixteen students will have the opportunity to work on all phases of a stop-motion animated short film mentored by award-winning director and animator Stephen Chiodo whose credits include Tim Burton's Vincent, Team America, Elf, The Simpsons and the cult classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space. The workshop is designed for advanced college level animators and recent graduates - this is not a beginning class. Acceptance into the class is by portfolio and reel review and participants should expect to devote 40-50 hours each week to the project (studio and classroom facilities and equipment will be provided Monday-Saturday by the LCAD Animation Department.) The deadline for application is April 15th, 2013. Tuition is US$2500 (payable upon acceptance.) Laguna Beach, CA 92651 Attn: Animation Department All portfolios must be on CD-ROM and include an animation reel (30 seconds minimum, Quicktime MPEG-4 Compression) and digital images of work in at least three of the following areas: Storyboards Character Designs Visual Development Sculptures/Maquettes Puppet Building Costumes Set Construction Portfolios not in the correct format will not be reviewed. Accepted students and wait-listed candidates will be notified by April 22, 2013 and full payment of tuition is due by May 1st, 2013. Students who miss the payment deadline will lose their place in the class to a candidate on the wait list.
