iAnimate.net is excited and proud to announce their new Games Workshop series that will begin in May 7, 2012.
Richard Arroyo (Lead Animator) has designed the curriculum and has head hunted top professional animators from different gaming studios to be your Instructors. They will share the knowledge, experience and techniques that they have used to create some of the most thrilling games. The primary goal of iAnimate games is to teach the principles of animation, but you will also learn the lingo, the process and workflow needed to work at a game-development studio.

This course will present a focused study of 3D animations made for the game industry. The workshop will consist of multiple live talks and demos given by the Instructor as well as prerecord video reference and video links. The goal is to show the instructors personal workflow through variety of different kind of animations, and help and give guided notes. In addition to the demo and lectures, the instructor will also assign animation task that would resemble an actual production pipeline. We will start with fundamentally rigged and simple formed character, then we will begin with understanding the certain terminologies of game animations, best practice in key framing for games, understanding animation constraints with games, animation breakdowns and work a rounds that are needed when working with a 3D engine. Students will spend time on their own recreating certain animations, which are the foundation of animating a game character.
The studies will be an emphasis on creating quality animations that create a readable, fluid and appealing character. The Workshop classes’ primary focus will be oriented for in-game and cinematic animations.
In order to qualify for iAnimate Games you must submit a reel with a good understanding of body mechanics. David Hubert (iA instructor and DreamWorks Animator) will review your reel and will email you with instructions on how to secure your place.
