Moddler Quarterly Challenge #2 - Entries by Dec 19 '11There are only a few days remaining to get your entries in for the Moddler Quarterly Challenge!
Don't worry though, for all you speed modellers out there, this is more than enough time to enter a new idea. For those of you who have already entered, please follow these rules when uploading your final image to your forum thread: Only one (1) image will be allowed for judging The image must be 1600px x 1200px You must only use one (1) material/shader/matcap to render your sculpture. The image can contain as many views of your digital sculpture as you feel necessary, or just one (1). The image can contain text and logos The image can be rendered with any software Important Dates Entry Deadline: December 19, 2011 Finalists Announced: December 23, 2011 Public Voting: December 23, 2011 - January 6, 2012 Winner Announced: January 8, 2012 Design Brief Seven tenths of the world's surface is covered in water, yet little is known about what lies beneath our little blue planet. From the smallest stream to the deepest depths of the Mariana Trench there are thousands of existing Marine Species out there and many more are being discovered every year. Entrants are required to create a 3d digital model of an 'existing' OR 'undiscovered' marine species. Marine species include everything from crustaceans, reptiles, jelly fish, fish, sea spiders and many more... Here is a list of existing species. Any style is permitted, cartoon, realistic or a stylized variation Final model must meet the event Guidelines and be suitable for digital printing Final design doesn't need to include a base, however make sure to consider how it will be printed and if a base will help it's appearance and balance. Prizes The winner of this challenge will receive a digital print of their sculpture to the value of $500USD from Moddler.com, the premier 3d printing company for today's digital entertainment creators.
