In the late 1980s and early 1990s there was burgeoning activity among independent minded artists in the LA area animation community. As the Second Golden Age was taking off artists such as Joe Pearson were actively involved in producing independent content. Joe created a short film entitled "Collet 45" which became an underground favorite.
