Some top-notch entries I'm up against... good work! (And I've gotta say it's great to see the cool animation, BobW.)
And thanks, B Moore; I'm glad you liked the spikey dragon. As for the notebook lines, I careful scanned an authentic notebook page, and with Photoshop's channels feature, painstakingly juxtaposed the... aw, all right. Sometimes I just like drawing in a spiral with a ballpoint pen.

Happy you liked it hamsterbite. I like your loosely sketched baby monster combination too. The funny thing is I also had the idea to put my animation against a notebook background so it would appear to be animated in a notebook combined with the pen I used. I ran out of time so I didn't manage to add it as well as some sounds I wanted to add. I think I'll still do it just for my own enjoyment and to complete it properly!!

Thanks Rob. A little of topic but what the heck. Just seen the incredibles and was totally blown away. Go Pixar!!! And finally a character in a film who's named Bob who has a heroic role!! Mostly the Bob named characters are either aliens, nerds or people who die after they said their name was Bob!!

Changing the subject, is it just me, or is it impossible to read the phrase, "I've got a balloon, and you don't" without hearing it in David Caruso's voice, as spoken to a suspect? You know, one of those lines he says right before they slam into the theme music? It is just me? Crap... I was afraid of that.

I don;t know about the Caruso thang.... My idea, which I didn;t get around to was an anchor man of a porcine variety.....saying...
"This just in......" (reaches off screen, as if for a piece of paper, and instead comes back witha string in his hoofy hand) "I've got a baloon......and you don't"
"Film at 11."

The bad news: I thought I had until later on Sunday to vote. The good news: I was going to vote for BobW. I guess this is one "W" who we know won fair and square. And now he'll have some pencils to play with. No more ball point pens, at least for a while. It's a pleasure to be in such good company. In a way, I feel like these contest are as much of a confidence builder for me as anything I've learned in art classes, and I've learned a lot there. The animation on the notebook paper reminds me of "Stick Figure Theater" on MTV's "Liquid Television". BMoore's characters kind of reminded me of Eddie Munster, or maybe something out a Vulcan production of "Newsies"? Congratulations, Bob, and thanks to those who voted for me!

Wow, thanks everybody. I can't promise that I'll never use my pens again but don't mind having those nice colerase pencils!! Thanks to everyone who voted for me and the rest of the participants. And I totally agree with Animagus that this contest is a great way to learn. Today animators and illustrators can learn a lot on forums alone. Long live the internet!!!

Yeah, BMoore, you do a particularly excellent job of recreating that old style of ink ilustration. Nice work.
And BobW, as I said, it was great to see your animation up here. Witty animation and good timing. Congratulations!
