Hi there folks. Sorry for the delay in getting the latest contest started; I've been in the midst of relocating from California to Washington state and have been without internet or even computer access. I think I was going through withdrawal there...
SO! Without further adieu, let's commence to begin to get started with the latest details...
The theme for contest #6 is: "I'm sorry, what did you say your name was?"
The prize for this contest is $100. It's important that you have a Paypal account, so if you don't already have one please make preparations. Additionally as a bonus we have an as-yet unannounced extra offered by the good folks with Animation Magazine, and yes, there'll also be an AnimationNation.com t-shirt and a box of blue or red Col-Erase pencils.

Send your entries to me at BReynolds6 AT comcast DOT net and please be sure that your email originates from the same address that you subscribed to the Independant Economy with. Failure to do so will delay our ability to confirm your eligibility to participate.
If you have any questions just let me know and I'll do my best to respond promptly.
Submissions can begin immediately with the deadline for final submissions being midnight, Sunday, September 26th. Voting will take place for the following week with the winner being revealed Midnight Sunday October 3rd.

I'm nearly done. (Yup, this time I did it!) What's the prefered format for submission?

You can submit your image in whatever format you'd like. When I put the submissions up the images that will be posted on the primary page will all be within 640x480 pixels in size with a .jpg compression around 8, or "high". If the image you create is larger than this or is a unique file format (ie: flash document) then I'll upload that seperately and when you click on the page image you'll be taken to a new page where the actual submission will be viewable as it was provided to me.

Cool. I'm looking forward to seeing those entries.
Hey, I was thinking... I liked being given the cue that last contest's topic was sort of "aimed" at backgrounds. Any similar direction to suggest for this one?

Maybe... logo design, or corporate identity type art? I've got some examples of that. Okay, ya talked me into it! I'll enter!

I really hate myself at the moment for choosing what I've chosen... I had two ideas, think the one I'm doing is best... you'll see... but I HATE MYSELF... ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

Chin up, old chap. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Remember you're a hero, and you've got a Square Jaw.
You can take it. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

LOL now I've done it and submitted I'm having second thoughts... ah well, it's replaced my front image on my always-in-development website...
It's just my first brush ink drawing in ages and I nearly had a fit when I smudged something during the last few minutes. Thanks be for tip-ex, eh? ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

You know, SquareJaw, I'm pretty sure Brian would let you change your entry if you wanted. There's still plenty of time before the deadline. And now you've got us all curious as to how we can find this website of yours. Brush-ink is one of my favorite media.
I think it would be cool if we opened our minds to entering past works sometimes, instead of just having to create custom art in a couple of weeks. That's what I'm going to start doing, and I think the idea is compatible with the spirit of the contests. Any way...
What in the world, by the way, is tip-ex? Sounds like I might could use it.

I haven't done brush art in a while, mainly using it a few years back doing artwork for Peafur Productions. Since then I haven't really used it as I'm mainly a pencil storyboard artist and I've been experimenting in Illustrator.
If you want to see my entry, head onto my ultra-crapola website www.bowendesign.com.
I'm actually thinking of lowering the contrast and rentering it under the original image, warts-n'-all. Brush ink pics are fun to do though! Just frustrating if they go wrong... grr...

BTW tip-ex is correction fluid. Always useful. And the link is broken above because it includes the full stop! ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Got word today that the bonus prize we'll be offering for this contest is a year's subscription to Animation Magazine. If you've already got a subscription then we'll offer it to the second place entry instead.

YAY! Go Trond! Look, I'm all cool now I've got an avatar and stuff.
Good luck to everyone. LOL, I'm tempted to change mine again but what with my current storyboard I'm likely to do my wrist in from drawing too much.

That's a good use of brush and ink, Squarejaw, but I am curious to see the pencil version now. Also, the subject matter made me laugh.

The pencil version is spread over a few pages, and is buried under paperwork now! It's really col-erase light blue so it wouldn't scan too well either and consists of overlapped elements of several drawings on my lightboard.
I could scan and not tamper with the original if you want so you can see the errors. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

If I could have entered, I would have drawn a cartoon of a security guard working the gate at disney studios (looking at clipboard)saying "I'm sorry, what did you say your name was?" to Roy Disney.
