hey everyone,
thought I'd better upload an image to keep up with everyone
just a girl drawing, very much work in progress, hence the pathetic other leg. I've got to work at the perspective on that, but would appreciate any other comments. I've never uploaded an image before, so here goes.
If I break any rules uploading this image as a newbie, please take it off. thanks guys

Cute lookin' girl.
Here goes my usual diatribe...
-Try to use a perspective grid when you draw figures out. just a quick checkerboard pattern in perspective, nothing fancy. This will help you to figure out the approximate contact points of the figure to the ground.
- draw your figures under-structure first and then draw the shape of the body around it. Essentially, draw your figures without clothes and then layer the clothes on top of them. this is especially helpful with things like the shoes. Draw a blocked in foot, then give it the contour, and then add the shoe around it. If you can understand what is going on beneath the surface then it makes representing the outer shell that much easier.
-be careful with things like the angle of the "boobs". They should more or less follow the same angle as the shoulders. ie if the right shoulder is up then the right boob should follow it.
- be careful with how you construct the face. Lips are sort of a funky thing to draw. make sure you draw the line of the mouth first and then add the top and bottom of the lip. In addition, everyone will almost always hve the dip in the upper lip right under the nose.
- Check the corner of the eye furthest from camera. That's another spot that takes a little figuring out. You should see some indication of the brow line just over her eye on the edge of her face.
-Try to figure out where the ear is on the other side of the head. The opposing earring is probably to far over.
-make sure you draw things consistent like the spaghetti straps on her top. One side is drawn as though it tapers up while the other is more of strap.
You know, the overall shape is prety good! you just need to line the details up.
But I digress!
It appears that I have rambled to long!

Ooops... One more thing
Seeing an indication of the clavicle and the indentation at the base of the throat is kind of a nice addition to female figures.

thanks for the comments guys. I can see what you mean about the boobs, funny, I'm always aware of the angle issue, but i didn't notice it here until someone pointed it out. The missing dent in the lip is a bit of a stylistic thing i do. I'll go back to it and rework it again later. most of my time is spent on 3d now, so i don't get much time to draw anymore. pity, as it's so important! thanks guys

I love it. Good colors, too. Is it marker or did you color it in the computer?

it was just a rough drawing , scanned into the computer, and then coloured in Photoshop, using a tablet.
