Hey all. I haven't been around much for the last year as I left the comfort and security of a steady paycheck at the beginning of 2006 to strike out on my own. It's been a tough road 'a hoe (though ironically little hoeing was involved...) but I've finally been able to put the time into the things I love. So within the next few months each of you will have the opportunity to not buy (or buy) HOVERBOY on your local comic racks. There's some other cool stuff in the works as well but it's way too early to tell if things will pan out yet.

So. For anyone who's planning on attending FanExpo at the convention center this weekend, I'll be around all day Saturday and Sunday at the Mr.Comics booth promoting the heck out of Hoverboy #1. Stop by and see sample pages, grab some Hoverboy collector cards, and watch the promotional trailer for a Hoverboy documentary, featuring Ty Templeton and Rick Green.

PLUS! Be the first on your block to get an official recreation of the 1938 Hoverboy decoder ring! Mention you're from the 'Nation and I'll give you a special discount!

Hope to see you there!

I lurk. But I'm too easilly distracted to get roped into the forums the way I used to.

I should mention that FanExpo is in Toronto, which I did not. And for those who can't attend, the first reproduction Hoverboy ring will be available for sale via the website in the near future.

Great to see you Marcus, and good wishes as well to ole BucketHead. Tell him I said sorry about that mix up with the brillo pad and the industrial strength Vodka!

Thanks Dave.

For those who couldn't make it to FanExpo this weekend, here's the link to the promotional documentary that wowed, stunned, and befuddled passers by:

Hey Marcus,
I was there, looked for you - but didn't see you or Old Buckethead. Where were you hiding?

Mr.Comics had a small booth near the giant T-Shirt monolith. It was a weird spot, and it took me about a half an hour to find it myself.

Sorry that I missed you. I guess you were lost in the shadow of the Monolith.

Funny - I've been to many functions in the convention center, but the Fan Expo is by far the stinkiest. Does personal hygiene go out the door with fandom? Where do they find these people?

And another thing - a general note to Fanboys. If I've been waiting in line for an hour to buy my ticket to get in, don't think that just because you're dressed like "Shnookybum the Fairy Prince" that you can sleaze your way into line ahead of me. I may be old, but I'm mean - and fast. And you're not getting in line.

I was there for the majority of both Saturday and Sunday, and after 5pm I was looking at my watch pretty frequently... Con's are funny, and strange. I can only imagine what the bigger ones like San Diego must be like...
