I can seem to find out who did the animation for "Happy Feet?"
Was it an unknown studio? Was it a secret lab division of WB? Was a great up and coming studio from India? Or was it done in Viet Nam?
Thanks, PP

directed by George Miller http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004306/ who brought us Babe and the Mad MAx Movies.
I managed to go to the Asifa Happy Feet Screening where George Miller was kind enough to discuss the movie and give Q and A
Alot of Happy Feet ( he dancing especially) was Performance capture yaknow....

I just realized that no one who worked on this film has piped in on this thread, so that must mean none of them read AN. This film was definitely not done in L.A.then!

I know a few of the guys who worked on HAPPY FEET at Rhythm & Hues; they were definitely in L.A.
Unfortunately, most of them are no longer working there .. including me ..

I heard that the dancing was mo-capped.
Was the whole movie done with motion capture, like what was done with "Monster House"? Or was most of the character animation real animation instead?

I was there on a different project (not HAPPY FEET) .. but, yes, there were layoffs there recently. I'm hoping that's just temporary, though. It's a great place to work.
--------
As EustaceScrubb pointed out, though -- there was another studio, Animal Logic, which also did a lot of work on the film. They're based in Australia .. so it was indeed an international production.

Been hearing the RH layoffs are pretty permanent. Heard all incoming projects will now be done by RH India.
Not a good sign atall!
