I am looking for the source of a story someone told me about Milt Kahl and Walt working on Jungle Book.
Milt was telling Walt he was worried about the Sher Khan and how he didn’t come into the film until you were 20 minutes into it. You didn’t see your villain for such a long time. Walt would say don’t worry about it.
Does anyone know of a book or source that will verify this?
Thanks

Interesting comment about Milt and Sher Kahn. I was part of "The Jungle Book" story crew back in 1966. Milt was suppose to animate "Rocky the Rhino" until Walt cut the rhino out of the picture. Voiced by comic, Frankie Fontaine, I think Walt found him more annoying than funny. It was after that, Milt moved on to Sher Kahn.
I assume Milt spoke to Walt about his concerns in private. He never mentioned that to us. Milt Kahl rarely came up to the story department anyway, but Frank Thomas was a constant visitor.
It was an exciting time to be working at Disney. None of us had any idea it would be Walt's last film.

Thanks Mr-Dunn! It seems there is actually an audio recording from the Rescurer's where Milt talks about how Walt handles story and Milt's concerns about Sher Kahn showing up so late in the picture...it's exactly what I was looking for! Thank you! Ang
