Ahem, "a friend" got one from ebay recently. Didn't know if it was real or not. Slick packaging and some extras. It seems to originate from China, as it says something about chinese subtitles, but there aren't any. $20 on ebay, and the lady gets it to you immediately.

If there are no subtitles, it's most likely a dupe of the Cantonese (Hong Kong) laserdisc .. which is the only legitimate NTSC english-language release of SONG OF THE SOUTH to be 'subtitle-free'; the japanese and mandarin LD's both put up subtitles (which cannot be 'turned off') during the songs, and to translate signs, etc.
This Cantonese laserdisc shows up on eBay about twice a year, and always sells for big bux; usually around US$600 ..
Though there is one currently on eBay, which has an opening bid of over US$1000 Or!! You could "Buy It Now" for US$1400 !!! Think of that: US$1400 for one disc?!!
-----------
This lady is plainly raking it in at US$50 a pop; even Disney's "special 2-disc limited platinum treasure edition" DVD's don't cost anywhere near that. And not a penny is going to Disney, or anyone but her, I'd bet.

Hm, Droosan; I have this laserdisc; and I seem to remember that you can watch it original and without subtitles (knowing myself; I would never have bought it otherwise; neither if it was a bootleg).
