Sounds as though I'd be flogging a dead horse on this page, but, just for the road, do you know of any animators out there who are also vegetarians, even though everyone in the field brags about eating copious amounts of meat.
Peace.

If I stop eating meat.. 3 days later I find myself looking at the elderly and cripples while licking my chops thinking: "MMmmmmmm...elderly."
If you're in Burbank, I suggest going to Pecos Bill's bbq pit. That'll cure your vegetarian ailment. The sloppiest burgers i've ever had, and if you told me that it was human, I don't think i'd stop going.
This gives me an idea for a new topic..

Being a Texas boy, I prefer Dr.Hoggily Woggily's Tyler Texas Bar-B-Q. In Texas they still hang people that spell it like I just did. So don't tell Okay?

I remember the old days back in Taiwan. Got so hungry I went to some of the local establishments for those all-you-can-eat 'mystery meat' dinners. Nope. They weren't processed meats. Just big chunks of protein - in 'cuts' that I could never identify.
I'd point to the meat and go "Moo?". The proprieter would shake his head "no". I'd ask, "Baaaa...?" He'd grin and shake his head, "no" again. It sure wasn't "Buck... Buck... Buck..." and it was too big to be snake...
Could it have been "Woof Woof" or "Meow"?

LOL! I'm dyin'! Dyin' I tell you!
Hooo... I know veggie animators but I mostly know veggie fine artists. Jokingly I think animation is too tough a job to be a vegan. Lack of milk can make an animators crabby and paraniod of harmless jokes made at their expense. Laff- tose intolerant. An artist needs a busload of milk chocolate brownies to stay cheery while seeing all of the red correction marks when their first pass storyboard comes back from their director.

Thats some fricken' funny stuff comin' from Bigshot there. That cracks me up!
I've known a few vegetarians in the business, but overall I'd say that there are probably (and maybe frightenly so) four to five chain smokers or alcoholics to every one of them.
This subject makes me think of the best steak I've ever had????
Probably be a toss up between something I had at Lowrys on a trip out to LA back in the early nineties or one at the Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix a couple of years back.

Being a "native" Kalifornicator, I didn't know what a good steak was until I worked in Texas for five months. I found out quickly that it sure makes life easier there when one is a meatatarian. But I found a reasonable compromise at a few restaurants there that had delicious sirloin steak on Caesar salads.
The best steak I've had was at a churrasco(sp?) place just outside of Dallas called Fogo de Chao. They bring by big skewers of various meat and cut off a slice or two or three or twelve for you. Yum-yum-YUMMY. Later this year Fogo de Chao is opening up a branch in Beverly Hills. I'm going, damn the credit card balance.
Ruth's Chris Steakhouse is mightymighty tasty as well. Meat cooked in butter...ahhhhh, heart attack waiting to happen!

I don't eats the cow or the pig, and I feel much better for it. There is a soyburger brand called " Grillers " that is terrific! Plus, ostrich is fantastic! Just had my physical, ( just turned 41 ), and my blood pressure is 110/70, and my cholesterol is 111. Gotta make sure you get that exercise in, also!

Jasen, you just have to chew a bit harder when you get to the beak. It's not like they didn't cook the thing.
I'm the oppisite of a vegan. I don't eat many veggies. The ones I do eat are the ones most other people don't like. Broccoli, califlower, and beans. Lots and lots of beans.
Back home in Pennsylvania we used to use that vegan salad stuff to catch our food.

I'm a vegetarian as well for over 10 years. All this stuff about John K. beating up vegetarians reminds me of a great ren and stimpy episode in which they adopt a criminal. When Ren asks him what he wants on his bread he replies: MEAT when he is asked what sort of bread he wants he says: MEAT and of course he also wants to drink MEAT. The magical abilities of animation see to it that he also gets meat bread and meat drinks and I thought it was hilarious.
