Is it just me? I don't know of one person who landed a job, paid or otherwise from AWN's job listing.
It's important that everyone post on this one....
For me...
The answer is NO.

I've gotten interviews, been whittled down to final few, but no, haven't gotten a job, although I don't think it was AWN's fault.

Yes, my current job.

I also made it into the top 5% of the application process at another company, according to the recruiting artist I talked with.

I haven't, but I know someone that did. He worked there for a little over a year and then got laid off! You can probably guess it was for an interenet cartoon place.

I've replied to some of those ads and had weird responses.

If you can, list what type of job you applied for...3D, 2D storyboard, designer, etc...

Nope.
They have an ad up right now for a company called "Animation Resource Group", with no phone # or address whatsoever. Guess you're supposed to walk outside and yell.

while this was a form rejection email, i got this for a illustration/flash job posted AWN. i didn't know where to post it on this board. this thread will do.

"Due to an overwhelming number of applicants, there is absolutely no chance
we will consider anyone not currently based in Los Angeles. We recieved over
300 email applications for just a few contract positions.

We are currently investigating overseas partners. We do not outsource within
the US."
it bears mentioning that the email ended with: good luck in future endeavors... yadayada
there are somethings posters--in any medium (newspapers, websites--job boards) should mention straight up. if they only want locals or overseas help, mention it and you won't get 300 responses. luh-ame!
