I was at work, if you could call it that, I think I got about 15 minutes done today, the rest of the time I was either glued to the set in the lounge, or too disturbed to actually work.

I went to work today, and concentrated on the only thing in the world that I have any control of. It was better than staying at home and worrying about my family and friends back in DC. (Who have thankfully all called to say they are OK!) Call it therapy. My Uncle works for the State Department, but didn't go in today because he wasn't feeling well. Thank god!

I'm working freelance on a commercial for Rich--went in about 11. I have a small tv at my desk, had it on the rest of the day. Rick told everyone to go home at 3--(except me,presumably since I'm not on the clock, and the editor who had a deadline!) I got up from my desk at 5 not knowing this..the place was abandoned. Weird.

I couldn't do a thing. It is like the worst nightmare. Wendy and I went out for a walk to get out but I'm torn between incredible anger , depression and shock. I cannot get my mind around the possible 20,000 to 50.000 dead. It is all too much.

Well, in answer to my own question on another thread, nope, couldn't get anythuing done. this is despite the "mandatory ove5rtime" speech and new hour tracking regs.. At work, our monitors for our PS2 Developer's stations are normal TVs and they ship with a small pair of rabbit ears. so I plugged them in and watched the news...I maybe got a little bit of geometry. well at 2:00PM pacific, the boss said it was okay for folks to go home, and mst did. I linked up with another employee and a mutual gfriend to go get lunch and donate blood. I was heartened by the cerowds, but we'l have to return later in the week, because they are swamped. Well, tomorrow is another day, and whether we will be working or just listlessly pushing the mouse around the pad, remains to be seen.Scott

Yesterday at work, we sat and watched the tragedy unfold, all day long, and we went home burnt out. I am in the final stages of a big freelance gig, and it is tough to work. I love to draw and animate, but its tough to draw a cute little character when so many people have died and so many lives have been affected. To be honest, I feel like a jerk. I wish the entire world could take a day off to catch its breath, but that isn't the way it works. I will finish my job because I said I would. That's where I am at.

I am really struggling to get 3 illustrations out this weekend. I took two days off this week because I was completely glued to the television and radio. But I have a deadline for a company in Chicago on Tuesday. Its so hard to concentrate, though. I think its important to continue working so we can all return money back into our economy, which all agree is now headed into recession. If its hard to work, we should try to keep that in mind.

Um Larry, suppose you could open a new thread to all your tests in, this is getting a little annoying, especially considering the subject matter.
