It's difficult for me to express my sorrow and outrage over what happened today. The events hit close to home as I have a brother who works in Manhattan near the area that was once the World Trade Center. I spent much of the day trying to find out if he was alright. I'm thankful that he is, although the trauma of what he experienced will affect him for years to come, as it will all decent people in the world.

It is my hope that once this horrific thing is behind us and we get our lives back on track, that our community will rise to a renewed calling. One in which we committ ourselves to the use of our talents and our medium for the betterment of the human condition. For the aleviation of the suffering of peoples everywhere. Even in something as seemingly insignificant as the comfort that laughter can bring, or the joy of experiencing beautiful art.

I wish everyone here on Animation Nation, wherever you may be, whoever you may be, true peace.

God, bless America. Amen.

Very well put! Our modest little medium may seem insignificant in the face of the gargantuan evil that humans seem capable of summoning up, but perhaps, just perhaps, we might have, with our pathetic little pencils, as much chance as David is said to have had with his sling.
