As a side note to the contest I'd like to make it abundantly clear that while I appreciate ANY participation and interest in the contest all entries really should be created specifically for the contest and not repurposed work that had already been crafted. I don't want to diminish anyone's effort and it really isn't a fair contest to judge one entry that was created in less than three weeks specifically for the theme of the contest and another entry which was created three or four years prior with the luxury of (effectively) unlimited time.
I thank you guys very much for your understanding of this.

Ha ha ha I love your guys' stuff. I voted for someone other than myself because I think that person deserves to win. Like I said, now that you have seen mine I wish I put more time into it, but hey I have a 75% chance of winning something and I think all the prizes are awesome! On a side note I did my frist ball bounces (with a tail, going away in perspective, hitting a puddle, and a regular up and down and side to side) and 2 walk cycles. We just started traditional animation at school and the assignment was to bounce a ball back in forth but I got carried away and started doing more after I finished. I love this stuff!

Thanks, Jeff! I thought I took it way back with Ozone from 'Breakin''...but I think you might have taken it even further with Atari (hehe)...fun drawing. After looking at yours, I know I should have included the boombox. Damn it!

Each submission is quite good. Best of luck to each!
As for what Brian wrote: quote: ...all entries really should be created specifically for the contest...
That was likely my fault. I suggested using existing work to try and spur people into making some effort to participate. Given that it was around the holidays that I suggested that, it seemed like a suggestion which would not impede too much on people's time. However, the unfairness of that option--using older, existing art as opposed to the art being created for the contest-- is duly noted. It hadn't occured to me when I wrote that.
Quite frankly, my hope was that someone would have just found some older work-- like, something from a sketchbook-- which inspired them to draw something new for the theme. I certainly didn't believe anything which I wrote would be more inspiring than a potential participant's own work, and their own abilities, would be to themselves.
Again, best of luck to each of the guys. Keep on creating and all that!

Congratulations guys! I think the voting went exactly how it should have gone. Your stuff was great. I feel bad that I did not put as much effort into it as I probably could have, but that's fine because I am going to go all out on the next contest. Mark my words I will get third place!! (I just want the subscription to animation magazine, being a student and all) Good job again.

Congratulations guys!
There were 37 votes. Here's the results:
1st Place - Fasty 59% (22) 2nd Place - MojoDesign 30% (11) 3rd Place - Jeff Nevins: 8% (3) 4th Place - hett15 3% (1)
Hett, you're a good sport. You mentioned that you voted for someone else, so the vote you got has to come from someone other than yourself.
The first place prize of $100 goes to Fasty.
The second place prize of a year's subscription to Animation Magazine goes to Mojo.
Third place is a year's subscription to Shane's site CartoonRetro.com and that goes to jeffnevins.
Hate to leave hett empty handed, but there will be other contests which of course we hope you'll enter. Give it a little more of that ol' college try and I'm sure you'll wind up as a prize winner next time out.
If we get more entries for Contest #12, we'll add a fourth place prize which I'm sure you'll be enthusiastic about.
Nice job guys. Congrats once more and thanks again for making AN's Contest #11 a success.

Oh, and by that I mean that the exchange rate is going to be kind, not that I'm excited about taking money from Americans!

Congratulations on winning 1st place, Fasty! And of course congratulations to Mojo and Jeff, and Hett, because your entries kept the competition going. I'm hoping to graduate in two days. If that happens it might give me some time to enter the next one.
Keep creating!

That's a great way to look at it. I did it just so everyone else could win something. I'm such a great guy. JK Well now I have actually been having a very creative week and my stuff is looking good (spending good drawing time on it). Bring on the next contest!! We don't need prizes in place yet, lets just get one kicking and give it some time to build up a lot of entries. It's never too early to start another contest! Anyone...?

Jeff, it is an animated gif with a ninja in the style of an old computer game. Strange that you can't view it.

Great contest! And actually, I'm someone else who hadn't thought of the unfairness of using previously completed work for a contest. That's a good point, Moderator. I'm sorry if some of my past entries weren't in the spirit of the contest. (It wasn't just you, Gergley.)
By the way, if you guys are looking for a theme for the next contest, please consider something related to the Olympics. Just watching them on TV has me cracking up at the outlandish sports and COSTUMES. They beg to be cartooned.

An update on the prizes.
Fasty's first place prize has been taken care of. We'll be setting up MojoD's subscription to Animation Magazine next week. Jeff's CartoonRetro subscription will be set up next week also.
Thanks for being patient. Once the prizes are dispersed we'll be prepping for AN Contest #12.

"MojoD"...I think I like that, Charles. It gives me more street cred, I think.
THANKS!
