Bro', I read headlines like that every day.
Back in NY, in upstate NY my home county has 3 maximum security prisons and two downstate by 12 miles. Most corrections officers are family, friends, as well as prosecutors and defense attorneys.
That old saying about "sending you up the river." meant where I did a good part of growing up.
The education in the level of greed I got 30 years before they hit the headlines. It would boggle the mind with how much money some people make and piss away. I kid you not, there were junkies who had $3,000 a day heroin and/or cocaine habits. Gamblers who had $30k a day habits. These people would steal the stink off a skunk's fart if they had to.
And those are the ones they caught!
The entire infrastructure of our species' integrity level has dropped through the floor and there's only one way to bring it back but unfortunately the guilty would rather turn the planet into an unrecognizable char before they'll give up.
It is on.
