Has the advertising campaign for a new war started already? Please, wake me up when I get bombed and/or it's time to vote. Whichever comes first. Thanks.

Blast from the past: Marketing Iraq: Why now?
Why did the Administration wait until September to make its case against Iraq? White House chief of staff Andrew Card told The New York Times last week, ``From a marketing point of view, you don't introduce new products in August.''

That's the same guy who denied that the holocaust ever happened.

Crazy read for sure.....the scales are universally tipping toward chaos and distrust.
A BC politician went on a rant lately about immigrants in Canada as did the Australian Prime minister
A fight over the desire for the installation of shari laws in Canada has been averted for the immediate future but anxious folks wonder wtf is going on .
from wikepedia : Shi'a Muslims reject this approach. They strongly reject analogy (qiyas) as an easy way to innovations (bid'ah), and also reject consensus (ijma) as having any particular value in its own.
Consensus ( ie democracy ) is unacceptable to Shi'a Muslims ?.....hey.....I see problems .
On the other hand check one of the latest stories on Bush here :http://www.macleans.ca/
Heck...is that a photoshop job ?....But it IS the cover image on our nations news magazine

At first I didn't like the idea of Ahmadinejad coming to speak at an American institution for higher learning, but ultimately it's good to learn more about people with who you have a difference of opinion, however unpalatable that may be. It is a sign of strength in our democracy that we can host an event such as this.
Unfortunately for some on this website however, the truth of what he actually did say doesn't fit the agenda of what you were hoping to hear. Sorry! I think on some level, we were all hoping he would have been a thoughtful, pragmatic and honest leader with clear, direct and truthful answers that acknowledge reality (as in the Holocaust was a real event that actually did happen, and yes, homosexuality does exist in Iran, etc), but such was not the case at Columbia University this week. He is his own worst enemy.
