Osama Bin Laden has released a new video which will have all his fans screaming with delight. He sports a died black beard. How fun! Although he looks like death colored over, it's how you feel that matters, dahling.

In an unprecented turn of events, the US Government has become the online distribution source for Osama's latest, while the entire Al Qaeda Internet system somehow goes out at the same time. An embarrasing turn of events for everybody's favorite jihadist.

Osama looks like he's under serious medication. I wouldn't put it past his keepers to have had him dosed up with mega psychiatric dope like Prozac and then on top of that some heroin.

He don't look healthy at all.

Considering the massive amount of heroin flowing out of Afghanistan right under our troops' noses I'm betting Osama's headquarters is right smack dab in the middle of the poppy fields.

This is the first year that September 11th falls on a Tuesday, just like in 2001.

I'm not up on my knowledge of jhiadists, so I don't know if that is of any significance.

If they want us all to convert to Islam, it probably isn't. In fact, the Gregorian calendar shouldn't be of any religious signifigance at all to them, right? They would use the Islamic calendar, which I believe is more than 365 days, meaning Ramadan occurs slightly later with each passing year. I know Charles is up on this. He, or someone else can correct or clarify.
But would all us artists agree that Osama looks a bit "off model"? And the speech, from what I heard, sounds like the ramblings of Miss Teen South Carolina.

Something stinks about this. Isn't Petraeus going to report to congress next week near the anniversary of 9/11? It seems like awfully convenient timing, no? Remember that tape of his that came out the week before the 2004 election? If I'm not mistaken that was released on a Friday as well.

Maybe it isn't so obvious to others and I'm sure there will be those that vehemently disagree with me on this, but I think they caught the guy years ago, and he's been used as a political tool. Yes, I think there is a good chance this is a staged video.

With all these videos since 2001, you have to ask yourself; who does it help and who does it hurt? And just why is this man still potentially free? Why doesn't he ever rail against the Saudi Kingdom and it's dictatorial government which brought him so many recruits? Doesn't he want to expand his recruited base? Is he afraid of the Saudi government? Wasn't it that government that allowed U.S. bases on their soil?

I wonder which Democratic candidate he's going to endorse? Wait, that's a silly question isn't it? I'm sure he's waiting for the field to be thinned so he can put his full voice behind the nominee.

Taking the image on the video at face value, this is very telling. I've always felt that Bin Laden was a preener, that his vanity and public image was a high personal priority. The kind of person where everything about his looks had to be just right before he appeared on tape on in a photo. A white beard in his culture is a symbol of honor and reverence. By dying his beard, he looks washed up and foolish.

Also, it's not known why the Al Qaeda Internetwork went out. According the article, the US got hold of the tape before Bin Laden's resources could debut it. It was actually posted on the Web by the US prior to his own support system. Then that online system went out. Some say that it's impossible that Al Qaeda's system of websites could be taken down by the US, that it had to be Al Qaeda itself to save face and to try and find the leak to the US.

Whatever the situation, it's an embarrasment to Bin Laden in every regard, and we may presently be more effective against Al Qaeda than previously realized.

Pulled from the blog of Robert Spencer

quote:
The Shafi’i school of Islamic jurisprudence forbids men and women to dye their hair black “except when the intention is jihad...as a show of strength to unbelievers” (’Umdat al-Salik e.4.4). Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, in his The Lawful and the Prohibited in Islam, says essentially the same thing: “Some of the early Muslims, including some sahabah [companions of Muhammad] such as Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas, ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amr, al-Hassan, al-Hussein, Jarir, and others permitted the use of black dye. Some scholars, on the other hand, do not consider the use of black dye as permissible except during time of war, when the enemy might be impressed by the fact that all the soldiers of the Muslim army look young.”

Tobias, your theory I can agree with.

Bin Laden is still a 'company man'.

He's toppled the Soviets and has done major damage to us. It's like we're witnesses to the prologue to that old Star Trek episode "Space Seed" and he's Khan.

Look at how dangerous this situation is. The Pakistani government is hanging on by a thread. They have nuclear weapons. It's an Islamic country. Bin Laden is a hero now, a living legend above all legends. There hasn't been a hero in Islam like Bin Laden since the days of it's founder.

If Bin Laden kicked the bucket today he'd be a hero for as long as there are moslems. If we captured him he'd be a hero. He's made complete fools out of his enemies. He's got us so on edge if just one incident occurs under the banner of Al Queda it could topple markets. As shakey as our economy is regarding the recent debacles, if he waits for a natural disaster then has some of his men just shoot people or blow up cars he'd turn the world into chaos in his favor. Stocks would drop, global economies already on the brink would collapse. He could literally in one fell swoop undermine the economy of China! There are Al Queda in China and they've done some damage. China would survive but it's present economic momentum would halt. They're already on shakey ground due to sub par production standards and their forays into the debt markets. One Al Queda attack in the U.S. and their asses would be had hard.

Gen. Petreaus is not gonna give the President the rosey picture he wants. The Iraqi government is a joke. They can't police themselves as long as they have a theocratic mindset. Religion and government don't mix well. You can't serve two gods.

Bin Laden is more powerful than ever. Even if he screws up royally, in the minds eye of pissed off people he's the guy who showed super power nations where to shove and then some.

For 30 years now I've awakened to see some islamic guy on television as our mortal enemy. Ever since Ayatollah Khomeini. When we ran out of Nazis and Commies we got islamic radicals to take their place. I'm so sick of seeing a bearded guy in clerical robes telling me how evil I am. I can do that myself.

This all seems so well orchestrated it's pathetic.

I talk to military who've been in Iraq since day-one on a daily basis. They tell me they've made great progress and the people are indeed happy that the U.S. is there. However, the reality of the situation is as long as those people cannot have a theocracy. They're going to have to give up islam if they want to escape tyranny. It's difficult to say to yourself your culture and religion are dangerous to you. Mind you, Islamic war campaigns throughout history cannot even compare to the slaughter Christian countries and their military campaigns have engaged in. Islam wasn't rocking WWI and WWII.

Gen. Petreaus is going to deliver the final blow. Bush is going to go down in history as the worst military administration ever.

When Fred Thompson takes over the presidency in 2008 the same sh1t will happen.

Why will Fred Thompson win? Because no one is going to vote for Giuliani because Rudy is a cop. Bush was elected twice by our dumb asses and no one wants a democrat in there engaging in criminal investigations into the Bush years. They'll get Fred in there for 8 years to take advantage of the statute of limitations and that's that.

If you want to catch Bin Laden follow the hair color.

Thomas OBL is not a member of the Shafi'i school according to your same source. Therefore he may appear as presenting an image he has no intention on acting upon.

No Zartan. I will not give up my way of life as a feminist and my American ways and convert to your views of Islam.

We got rid of Serpentor (Saddam Hussein). Now the 'Joes have to convince Cobra Commander (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad)to stop threatening Israel and find out who your "Destro" is and bring him to justice.
You'll pay for all those innocent people you killed 6 years ago today and stay hot on your heels until we get you!
You should be ashamed of yourself for your sweeping perversion of the great faith of Islam and the now tarnished image the YOU HELPED CREATE of the people who follow it.

Hang your head in shame you Short-Sighted Meanie!

Excerpt:

Osama Bin Laden's widely publicized video address to the American people has a peculiarity that casts serious doubt on its authenticity: the video freezes at about 1 minute and 58 seconds, and motion only resumes again at 12:30. The video then freezes again at 14:02 remains frozen until the end. All references to current events, such as the 62nd anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of Japan, and Sarkozy and Brown being the leaders of France and the UK, respectively, occur when the video is frozen! The words spoken when the video is in motion contain no references to contemporary events and could have been made at any time.

The video may be downloaded as a 677 mb MPEG file here:

US loner helps bin Laden to taunt Bush
A Californian heavy metal fan, who converted to Islam and became the first American to be charged with treason in half a century, has been fingered as the author of Osama bin Laden's latest video lecture - which left the terror chief sounding like an anti-globalisation protester.

American spy chiefs were quick to name Adam Gadahn, the head of al-Qaeda's English language media operations, as the author of large sections of bin Laden's broadcast.

Last October, the 28-year-old "loner" became the first American charged with treason since 1952, for appearing in a succession of al-Qaeda videos under the guise of "Azzam The American", in which he condemned globalisation and made American cultural references.

He was charged in his absence, as he is thought to be near to bin Laden, almost certainly in the tribal areas of Pakistan.
