The spotlighted new species made me think of Mr. Limpet.

Great story!

Here's one that was in the New Yorker awhile back about the elusive Giant Squid:

It's amazing that nobody's ever photographed one alive, yet they're one of the biggest predators in the ocean- at least 30 ft long! It's a long read, but worth it if you dig this kind of thing.
