Just galnced at the article. No love lost here with Dubya but that l'il black box is a mic transmitter more than likely.
Would take as little as a frequency scanner to figure this out. That's how some fake "word-of-knowledge" preachers have been busted.
But the whole idea reminds me of a Sgt. Bilko I once saw.....

I would hazard a guess and say the little square blocks you see in his suit are the bulges from a bullet proof vest. As for wires and batteries in the ears, my guess is that somebody in the press would notice. Who cares really, its no different from a teleprompter and or pre-written speech.
Probably just more ********.
