Its cool. I really like the "slugish" creature.
I love your ruff stuff.
BUT, there is something about your current finishing style that drains the life out of your work.
You have a really expressive style in the pencil stuff. Its kinda strange.
I really love those ruffs.
But then something happens in cleaning it up.
Maybe you need to add tones, but I think there is something about your uniform lines....they flatten the stuff out too much.
I would love to see what you can do finishing these up like Eric Goldberg/Hirschfeld thick/thin style. I would love to see some of your stuff finished off more like the Sanders Stylee, or Bluthy, or Even Bakshi-ey.
I love those pencils. there is so much life.
Maybe you can try and do the ink line in a vector program to simulate more of a brush stroke. ![[Smile]](smile.gif)
On the boards thing....the likeness is pretty good, but I would stop using the pencil shading and go for marker for tone. that way you avoid the fuzzy clumpy. you only need 4 markers(3 grey one black), two kinds of pencils and access to a plain paper copymachine to improve your production value 3 fold.

Hey Eric.
How've you been?
Sorry for the delay. I sometimes neglect the Net- Good tips.
His size has improved- larger and more eel-like.
I wonder if I should post any more- someone mentioned the wisdom of secrecy. I suppose since I've already had a first meeting w/no mention of character-driven eels, though, I might have a corner on the eel market.
I agree- that old cleanup was a heavy-handed (back in '01).
Revised the boards, and have a second meeting in a week. Hopefully the interest is a good sign of the possibility of proceeding w/a short.
