I'd like to bring your attention to Don Bluth's new site. If you're looking for an opportunity to interact and learn from and with the man himself, here's your chance!

I like the new site. The Don's Club looks very cool! Looks like there is and will be a lot of cool content on this site. I have to admit I like the nuts and bolt video. Tempted to get that one. Although I know most of it already I feel like I would be catching up on something I should have seen years ago.

Neat site. It looks like there is more money to be made in animation schooling than animation production. Nothing against Mr. Bluth, it's just a trend that I noticed.

Gosh, I miss his gorgeous drawings. I always loved the noses and pock marks of Don's characters and his use of color and effects.

On that note, I think I'll go watch the Secret of Nimh now. I could use a bit of inspiration:)

Thanks Charles.

Don produced a couple of tutorials which I viewed in entirety in the company of a classroom full of animation students at Cal State Northridge this week. Very well received, and I'll offer my specific opinions and comments a little later in a dedicated thread.

Meanwhile you can get a preview of the Don Bluth animation tutorials I'm referring in at these links to his site.

This is the first in the series, entitled 'Nuts and Bolts':

Here's the second one, 'The Bouncing Ball':

I too have been over there chatting(Hey Jeff)!. I joined up to Don's club. Has some cool stuff with a lot more to come. I think what is pretty valuable is every Wednesday he has a Q&A to ask animation related questions.
