Nina Paley's animated masterpiece has been tied up in copyright restrictions for the past few years… and can now be shown online in full.

Wow, lots of new stuff on the front page here.
SITA is up - free and legal - for download. What I've seen so far is impressive and I can't wait to watch the whole thing tonight. It's provided in every resolution up to HD and the server is fast (the 1080P MP4 file seems to be broken, unfortunately):

I saw in the TV listings that SITA was being broadcast today at noon on LINK. I turned it on. It was a pledge break show, PBS-style. Okay, I like LINK and I like SITA, so that's cool, I guess. I waited for the opening credits after the first pledge break. They didn't come on. LINK started showing the movie from the middle. I'm not sure, because I wasn't actively watching the whole time, but random parts of the movie seemed to be playing out of order. There were long pledge breaks every fifteen minutes or so, then 48 minutes in, the segment which was erroneously shown at the begininning was shown again. The movie never got to the end. At 1:12 PM, LINK abruptly cut to Asian music videos which played out the time slot.
That's a shabby way to treat an accomplishment such as SITA. Oddly, LINK has the movie on its site in the proper order: http://www.linktv.org/programs/sita-sings-the-blues
