The game featured on the iPhone 3G and in the commercial is Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart, which was designed and developed at The Animation Academy. Joe Pearson worked on it, John Nevarez, Alan Simmons, Snakebite did BG color keys.

I wish I knew what I was doing when I developed this character. The lessons learned have paid off in other very positive ways, the success of Crash Bandicoot delivering big dividends.

Email from a Crash fan shed some light on the numbers of the 3 major Playstation titles I developed. A big shout out of thanks to Edwin.

The top selling Playstation games of all time, plus units sold:

For Playstation:

7. Crash Bandicoot (6.8 million)
9. Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped (5.7 million)
10. Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back (5.17 million)
12. Spyro The Dragon (4,832,145)
17. Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! (3,451,064)
20. Spyro: Year of the Dragon (3,283,077)

Playstation 2:

12. Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (4.2 million)

Not sure how recent the figures are, my guess is they're fairly contemporary. In 1998 Crash when Crash 3 was relased the combined sales for the first 3 games was 10 million units. Those same titles according to this data are at 17.67 units.

Adding up all 7 titles that made the charts, sales in units total 33,436,286. Let's say there's a conservative net profit of $10 per title, that's $334,362,860. Video games been very good to more than a few folks out there.

Thanks again to my buddy Edwin for compiling the data from a Wikipedia source.
