This worked wonders on another board I frequent. Actually it's a board of scientists! If you think we fuss and fight on AN, you ain't seen nothin' yet!
Scientists are the fightingest people I've ever met. One's theory vs another's theory and it's on!
So I just started an Apology Thread where I apologized in general to anyone I'd intentionally insulted ( i.e. calling someone a bonehead or goofball ). Soon afterwards, the board was full of everyone generally apologizing. Worked wonders and every month we put just add to it by saying we're sorry. One professor calls it our 'wailing wall'.
So here on AN let me be the first:
I, Greg B, do truly apologize for anyone I've intentionally insulted. I also forgive anyone who has intentionally insulted me. Let bygones be bygones.
See? That didn't hurt one bit.

I apologize to anyone I have unfairly maligned. Greg I also unfairly slammed you in an immigration thread. My apologies.

I apologize to anyone offended by my supremely reasoned, common-sense, incontrovertible views on politics and religion. It must be hard going through life as a "slow" person!
Being too dense to perceive insults to me, I neither notice nor forgive anything.

I accept all apologizes, and apologize to those I've offended by will and/or ignorance.
I'm flawed, your flawed. Your right, I'm right. None is ever 100% of either.
It's a particle and a wave, ain't it now?

Greg, you must've been reading my mind. I was thinking the same thing as far as a thread like this is concerned. Thanks for starting it.
I'd like to publicly thank Pete Emslie. Pete used to post here as PonsonbyBritt. He was the only one in all the years I've been dealing with the forum who ever had the personal fortitude to offer an apology after a misunderstanding we had a few years ago. The only one. Pete has an active account with us and I hope we'll see him again on the forums before too long.
Pete, if you're reading this, thanks. You're not forgotten. Stay in touch and let us know how you're doing. You're always welcome here.

And here's to you, Greg Boone. You got us on Jeff Rense not once but twice! The second time with Kevin Koch, Brian Mitchell, Eric Hedman too wasn't it? All during the Disney Eisner war. Helping get the word out to millions of people on the Web.
I apologize to you on behalf of the site for some of the remarks you received from members here. You're a rugged man and handle it well as you've shown many times. You keep the site editorially active with lots of interesting topics. Thanks for being a fantastic vocal supporter of AN. That really means a lot and you'll always have a friend in me brother.

Great thread!
I have to apologize to SteveG when we got into it last summer.
Also to Jessie because we don't get along on the board at all and I surely had a role in that - it takes two.

Thanks Charles!
I apologize to you if I've brought any animosity to the board.
See fellas? It's easy and you feel lighter and more responsible and fresh.
Apologizing isn't a weakness, it's one of our strongest characteristics. It means you can actually look at yourself from another point of view and take responsibility for your own transgressions.
That's the difference between sane and insane, good and evil.
The insane and evil are incapable of self-evaluation. It's never their fault, someone 'made' them do it, everyone is always against them etc.
None of us are perfect but being responsible is a step in the right direction.

I apologize to anyone who's been scratched by my kittens and poked by my unicorns!
I especially apologize to the Nickelodeon recruiter I burned vi AN last year. My post wasn't meant to be an insult--honest! However, that thread taught me to never mention people here by name or blow the lid off of anyone's anonymity again!
I'm sorry!

Aw, man. Now he has to apologize for crazy talk.
I apologize for anyone I've rubbed the wrong way. I don't think I've ever meant to insult, but I can do it by thoughtlessness sometimes, so I'm sorry. Any offense I've taken at someone else is hereby erased now, too.
Thanks, Greg.

Oh. I meant I apologize *TO* anyone I've rubbed the wrong way. Heh.
And I agree that apologizing isn't a sign of weakness. We're not apologizing for disagreeing, just for any hard feelings that may have resulted.

Actually ApeLad, I do think I've offended some people with my over enthusiam. Check this December 25, 2002 post from kidtermite:
quote: I don't mean to sound like a smartass at all but does Mr. Gagne ever post a topic or reply that isn't a self-promotional tool. Everytime I read one of your topics or replies it always leads to, "But wait, theres more. Order now and you get this ....." Does anyone else see this?
It's from this thread: http://www.animationnation.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=000519#000010

I apologize for being so outspoken about the Walt Disney studio when I feel they've gone astray. I know I've probably offended more than a few artists, managers, and computer guys who were only trying to do their jobs.
However, keep in mind I worked for the "Old Man" back in the sixties. I didn't learn my Disney stuff from the history books -- I learned it from Walt.

Glad to see the thread growing.
The point of the thread is to show that one can be responsible enough to be courteous enough.
It's about the mechanics of the physical, mental, and spirtual universes.
If you can apologize in general and accept an apology in general, not only do you free up bound up energy and it's manifestations such as stress, muscle cramps etc..
That's the equation. No jokes, just an ability to accept responsibility and acknowledge another who does so as well.
It's a good exercise for prosperity and good health all around.
Plus it really pisses the Devil off.

Being in the conservative minority on this site any opinion that I say is bound to tick someone off. So I apologize, not for my opinions or for expressing them, but in case the manor that I presented them has offended anyone. I hope that I have never used names or terms that have offended anyone. If so I apologize.

I'll drop in an apology for anyone who thought my lengthy too-analytical post about animation complete with rules for discussion was flippant or disrespectful. It was unintentional and I'll try to keep it more clear in the future.

I apologize for that time I might have said something brusque to Dave Brewster back in early 2002.
And I apologize for showing up back in my old High School in my underwear without my class schedule.
Wait. I may have dreamed that last one.
