Legendary Legend.
You'll get a packet in the mail.
The have a reception after the ceremony which the video for posterity. The ceremony will prolly be between the Wells and Eisner buildings....under Dopey's loving gaze.
Plan for all day. Probably starting in the afternoon. Wear something semi formal, classy....maybe bring a matching hat. You will get some direct afternoon sun there. There will be studio gawkers coming and going.
I went over last year to see someone I dig whose relative was getting remembered for being a stellar dude.
Be prepared for characters from the parks as escorts capering about.
Damn...that Bob Iger can wear a suit. He looked very sharp. Dick Cook didn't look too shabby neither.
I suggest something bold, but not too peacocky. Maybe a dark dark muted egplant with gold thread subtley woven in so that as you walk, you shimmer.
And a nice vented rabbit-fur-felt porkpie. with am antiqued solid gold feather pin....or maybe a festive woven wide brimmed field hat in green gold and a similar muted eggplant.

Whooo Hoooo! May I be the zillionth person to congratulate you?!! Hey, does this mean that they made a sculpture of you, like in the old days?? If not we should get Ruben Procopio on the case!! Maybe at the event you can show old home movies of you, Walt and Ub in the Kansas City Studio!! (just joking!) Congrats again - you are a great representative for classiness in our profession!

I only know you from online, Mr. Fun, but this makes me smile. Add my "Congratulations!" to all the others! There should be a special category distinguishing those who worked with Walt.
Thanks for everything you give to all of us!

The congrats is a bit belated but I'm earnest in stating that I'm proud for ya.
So Congrats and enjoy the moments and perks which come with this.
Heck, I think most folks though you was legend status before now but it sounds like it might be immortalized on a plaque or something. That's a cool honor to obtain during a career.

Congrats to Floyd on this well-deserved achievement.
Also, with Art Babbitt receiving one posthumously, does this mean they aren't worried about awarding those who were on bad terms with the company? If so, Bobby Driscoll really deserves one.

Big Hug Floyd!
Wish I could be there. Maybe I'll see ya at the Annies next year. And if SCAD ever offers to have you come and speak, please take a side trip to my school too...
I still think the Carter Studio on Winona near the airport was pretty legendary... ![[Smile]](smile.gif)
