If you have an account on AnimationNation.com and have never left a message, use it or lose it.
We're going to be updating our membership roster in a couple of weeks. Sometime during the week of January 17.
All accounts that registered with us prior to June 23, 2004 but have never left a message will be closed.
Accounts may be re-activated by contacting our Account Administration. To re-activate a dormant account, the policy for new account registration will apply and the member will have to provide some basic information about themselves in accordance with our current registration guidelines.

If I reply to this topic. Does that means I don't loose my account?

Just the accounts that registered but never left a message. Some of them go all the way back to the days when AN first went to a registration format in 2000.
The next sweep up will be general membership accounts which haven't posted since December 31, 2003. That will be scheduled a little later on.

I know I should post more, but a lot of time I find what I read more interesting than anything I could ever post, but I do some stuff, so I shouldn't be too worried....

Forums are there to participate in and I just don't understand people who register and NEVER post, even if its only a few times now and again.

Many times I have stumbled accross an interesting forum, and registered an account with every intention of posting regularly. Then I forget to ever go there again. That must have happened at AN many times.

Yeah, I'm more of a lurker here atm, since I usually don't have anything meaningful to add to a topic. However, I do like browsing this board and seeing what the "general health" of the animation industry is like, since I would like to work in it someday (although probably from a writer's standpoint).

If you've registered before June 23rd 2004 but never used your account then it is considered dormant.

You know, I was always too timid to post here. When I saw some of the credentials of the members here and compared it to my non-working college-attending Ramen-snarfing self, I got just the slightest bit intimidated. Well, now I finally get to show myself, at least for a while until I go back to Limbo Land.

We've begun the process of retiring accounts which have registered but never left a message from the time we went to a registration format to June 23, 2004. There's still time to chime in if someone who has an account but who's never utilized it would like to keep it going.
If you have an account that has never been used and would like to revive it, contact AN's Account Administration and we'll do what we can to get it active again.

Oops, don't often remember that I can do that. Too much tv conditioning to remain a passive consumer I guess. Endless reruns of Gilligan's Island in my youth took its toll on my ability to respond coherently in social contexts.

If you registered an account on AN after January, 2003 and never used it, there's still a little time to keep it active by leaving a posted message somewhere on the boards.

Anyone who is a subscribed member, regardless of whether or not they actively participate on the boards, need not worry about their accounts. They'll remain open indefinitely.
The accounts we're refering to are those accounts which have never left a message in the years since they were registered, and those accounts will be re-activated if they contact account administration and request that they be opened.
We're up to August 1, 2003. If you have an account registered prior to that date that was never used and you would like it to remain viable, get in touch and let us know.
